Consortium Participation

Consortium participation in the LibQUAL+® project is viewed as a mutually beneficial arrangement through which the consortium obtains valuable service quality information and comparisons across their membership, while ARL benefits from the large number of participants. Consortium arrangements also stress the importance of serving the continuing commitment and participation of consortium members in the LibQUAL+® project, in order to help it grow and develop.

In general, ARL does not offer discounted fees for consortium participants. Instead, group members receive a number of added benefits that are not provided to individual participants, including:

  • Analysis of group results and a group notebook for consortium participants
  • The ability to add five additional questions to the survey as a unified group; data from those questions will be included in the group notebook
  • The opportunity for a locally hosted, customized results meeting (depending on the number of consortium participants and the availability of the LibQUAL+® team)
  • The ability to benchmark your results with a group of peer institutions

The LibQUAL+® project has been greatly enhanced and enriched through consortium participation. Consortium participants have included:

  • AAHSL
  • Alabama Academic (NAAL)
  • Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities - Academic Libraries

For more information on how a consortium can participate in LibQUAL+®, send an e-mail to libqual@arl.org. Because of the amount of preparation that is required, interested consortia should contact the LibQUAL+® team as far in advance of registration as possible in order to discuss participation in the upcoming survey.
